I will be exhibiting 2 works at the World of Threads Festival in Toronto! World of Threads is comprised of 8 curated exhibits celebrating the diverse use of fiber in contemporary work. My work is part of the exhibit me and you, which is the “culminating exhibition of artworks submitted to the 2016 International World of Threads Festival and selected for display at the Living Arts Centre Gallery. Showcasing 21 artists, this exhibition highlights new modes of using textiles and fibre arts as a means to address contemporary concerns and issues. Works featured draw upon personal narratives as they pertain to the self – body, image and self-identity, while the remainder reflect on issues related to the other – concerning experience, relationships and social-political circumstance. Through varied approaches, the incorporation of both traditional and modern techniques, me and you provides new perspectives on balancing social projections with self-introspection and brings mindfulness to our collective consciousness as connected to space, memory and time.” Curated by Megan Press.

If you’re in the Toronto area please stop by the Living Arts Centre Gallery, 4141 Living Arts Drive, Mississauga, Ontario. The Opening Reception will be Sunday, October 30 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. The exhibition will run through Sunday, December 4th.
